Western leaders have agreed to exert more pressure on Russia and increase Moscow’s isolation after its invasion of Ukraine. Leaders from the United States, including Joe Biden, Boris Johnson and Mario Draghi (Italian Prime Minister), expressed concern about the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. They also called for a quick ceasefire.
After a video conference among the leaders, Rome stated that there was consensus about the need to put more pressure on Moscow, including by adopting additional sanctions and increasing Moscow’s isolation.
They also stated that they had reaffirmed their commitment to diversify energy supplies to reduce Russia’s dependence.
